As an inspired artist throughout his life, Shaun Parker was always focused on his craft as a young child. He remembered his first drawing today in kindergarten drawing a jungle with a tiger, elephant and tall trees.
Ever since his parents noticed his talent, they would purchase him an art pad every two weeks because Shaun would run through each 100 page art pad within that time.
Shaun would draw anything and everything at a young age, from human anatomy to whatever was in the sky and under his parents bed. Shoes, boxes, insects, game consoles, tv, his friends playing outside etc.
Shaun was then accepted into JHS 113 when he auditioned under the teacher, Ms. Padilla. Grade 6th through 8th grade, Ms. Padilla put in every effort to enhance his skills along with many other students.
During the years of middle school, Shaun would be in art battles along with his peers. There was an art battle where Shaun drew a character Spawn and challenged his friend who drew Goku from dragon ball z back in 1998. Who won? His friend because Shaun Sketched an image of Spawn but it was on loose leaf paper and his friend sketched Goku on an 11 X 14 with many colors and extra detail. Shaun was shocked but didn’t think of to make his drawing a lot bigger, he just went home and figured this will do! But an Art Battle amongst friends didn’t have RULES! It was Raw Talent and bring it to the Table, let the friends decide. Shaun sat back in awe and said, “This will never happen again”
His last year of middle school, Shaun put his portfolio together for High School auditions and got accepted into La Guardia High School. Shaun was also accepted to Art & Design, he wanted to go with all of his friends but his Mother and Teacher said “No, La Guardia is the school to attend.”
Attending La Guardia High school, Shaun was introduced to Graffiti/Vandal Art, Pen Art, Ceramics and many other styles. It excited him allot, he forgot about his academic education and continued his Art thoroughly. Cut school and did art on trains, buildings, rooftops, draw on people etc.
Shaun then had to transfer to another school(alternative) because of no academic credits but had close to 20 Art credits! And finished high school with a High School Diploma adding on another year and half of high school.
After High School, Shaun moved to Memphis, TN, to work as a personal trainer, aerobic instructor and gym salesman. He did bodybuilding and came in first place 🥇. After working down there he saw his friends back in Brooklyn,NY learning how to tattoo. Shaun moved back to NY instantly, worked under his friends for a while until he got his New York State Tattoo License and traveled across states to tattoo.
Shaun Tattooed over 30 college campuses, several military bases, tattoo conventions, studios, and so on. He now has his own studio based in Brooklyn,NY. 7 Marcus Garvey Blvd.
Within these times Shaun has entered into multiple art Competitions with friends, other artists.
Shaun has also opened up a Training Tattoo Program in his studio for those experienced to inexperienced that has an interest in tattooing.
With the tattooing and having to be licensed at a certain age, Shaun came up with an idea on how to bring the youth more into the Art World of hand crafting with an art that’ll continue without technology having to take over. “A Robot Can Not take over this skill!” The Art work is very more important just like any other skill or talent out there. Being creative is what built the pyramids, to sky towers, parks, fashion, tools, entertainment, neighborhoods, movies, and many more. It all started from PAPER! Not only Shaun is inviting you to a competitive world! NO! Shaun also wants to introduce you to why Art is far important! Also meeting the people you live next to that carries the same ideas and inspiration and you did not even know it!
As parents we listened to all day, “All the children do is play games after finishing homework or stay on the phone all day.” Well, why not keep the minds moving without tech for a while and get to Building the creative aspect of the brain once again?
“The mind is a terrible thing to waste!”
“No justice no peace!”
“Time is money”
“Spread Love everywhere you go!”
“Each one teach one”
We all live by and cheer on multiple famous quotes but we still are not living up to it at 100%.
So let’s get to work!! And become Inspired Creators.
How much energy, inspiration and creativity is needed to be at your best? As we get older and still thinking of new ideas, this question will never be answered thoroughly! It is the same as when we say, “we should’ve saved our money as a child instead of spending it and we will have enough money to invest or not have to be struggling.”
If we start off our youth with creative energy and continue to harness it, imagine what our next generations of skilled talent can do? Plus more than what it is now?
Let the Inspiration continue !!!!!
